There are so many different types of bags to choose from that it can be hard to know which to use! Want to know what type of travel bag is best for you? We’ve got a few tips to help you out:
Soft Backpack/Small Duffel Bag — If you’re traveling light for a short trip, this is the ideal bag. You can fit a computer, a few items of clothing, and your basic personal items, and the backpack will be the perfect carry-on. There’s no need to check any luggage if you’re traveling with a backpack.
Backpack with Internal Frame — If you’re a serious hiker or backpacker, you’ll need something with more storage space. The frame will help to disperse the weight, making it easy to walk long hours without tiring. However, this is not a carry-on bag!
Soft-sided rolling bag — This is the classic businessman’s bag, as it has enough space for small work and personal items. Smart packers can usually fit up to a week’s worth of clothing into one of these bags, but pack them too full, and you’ll have to check them instead of bringing them as carry-on.
Hard-shelled rolling bag -– If you have valuable items you want to protect, or you are traveling with fragile things, you definitely want the hard shell. This will add an extra element of protection, and will ensure that no amount of rough handling will damage your belongings.
Suitcase/Large Duffel Bag — If you’re traveling for an extended period of time or need to bring a wide variety of clothing, this is the option for you! You’ll have to check it (which can cost extra), but it’s the best way to ensure you have everything you need!
