Epic Adventure Destinations in the US Part 2

Planning an outdoor vacation this year? Here are a few awesome adventure destinations in the US for you to consider:

  • Cleveland, Ohio — Few people think of Cleveland as being an adventure-packed city, but wait until you visit Cuyahoga National Park! Just half an hour from the city, the park is one of the last bastions of wildlife in the country. It’s home to native animals and plants, with hiking trails, cycling paths, climbing routes, and wide open farmlands. You can even walk along the Ohio and Erie Canals, and it’s a great place to spend a weekend out in the wild. Or, if you prefer more urban fare, try the bike-share programs to tour the city on bicycles for free, or visit one of the many amazing Metroparks.
  • Tillamook County, Oregon — Oregon is one of the greenest states in the nation, and Tillamook County is one of the most beautiful areas in an already gorgeous state. Called the “land of cheese, trees, and ocean breeze”, it offers spectacular views of the Oregon coastline, with activities including whale watching and dune climbing. Visitors should take the time to go crabbing, or spend a few days paddling up and down the coast. An adventure weekend without a doubt!
  • Block Island, Rhode Island — For a retreat away from the fast pace of metropolitan life, look no further than Block Island. This little island offers more than 17 miles of deserted beaches, 30 miles of hiking trails, and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s considered one of the best destinations for those who want to get away from it all, and you’ll find that it’s a great place for adventure on land and in the water!
